Submit IPRA Request (Legacy Content)
The Submit IPRA Request feature allows both Tier 1 and Tier 2 users to file a public records request under the Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA).
This functionality is designed to streamline the request process and ensure timely tracking, transparency, and communication with the NMPRC.
1. Access the IPRA Request Form
After signing in, click the + Submit New button at the bottom-right corner of your dashboard.

A list of available filing options will appear.
Select Submit IPRA Request to open the IPRA submission form.


2. Select Submission Type
Users may file a request either as an Individual or Company.
Individual
- Select Individual using the radio button.
- Your personal details (name, email, etc.) will populate automatically and may be edited if necessary.

Company
- Select Company to file the request on behalf of a business entity.
- Enter all required company information manually.

3. Enter Request Details
Provide a detailed description of the records being requested and select the preferred document format:
- Digital Format – Choose this option to receive records electronically.
- Printed Format – Choose this option if you require physical copies.
If Printed is selected, choose one of the following delivery options:
- Pickup – Retrieve the printed documents in person.
- Mail – Receive the printed copies by mail.


4. Submit the Request
- Enter a spend limit amount (if applicable).
- Click Submit to send your IPRA Request.
The system displays a Submission Successful message with your assigned Request ID.
Record this ID for reference or follow-up inquiries.

5. View Submitted Requests
Navigate to the IPRA Request tab in the left-hand menu to view your submitted requests.
Your most recent request appears at the top of the list.
- Click the IPRA Request ID to open the 360° view.
- The request details and current status are displayed at the top of the screen (e.g., Acknowledged – Pending Review).

6. Production Documents
When Legal Counsel adds production documents (Partial or Full), they appear under the Production Documents tab of your request.
To download:
- Go to the Action column.
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) icon.
- Select Download.

7. Clarification Required
If Legal Counsel requests clarification, the requester receives an automated email notification.

The requester can also view this status from their dashboard.
To respond:
- Open the request.
- Navigate to the Clarification tab.
- Add the required details.
- Click Submit to send your response.

8. Extension Request
If Legal Counsel requires additional time, an Extension Request email is automatically sent to the requester.

9. Wrong Custodian
If Legal Counsel determines that the request was filed under the wrong custodian:
- The requester receives an automated Wrong Custodian email.
- The request is closed and the status updates to Wrong Custodian – Closed.

10. Broad and Burdensome
If Legal Counsel identifies the request as Broad and Burdensome, the requester receives an email notification detailing the issue and next steps.

11. Request Rejection
If Legal Counsel rejects the IPRA request:
- The requester receives an automated rejection email.
- The request status is updated to Rejected – Closed in the dashboard.

12. Payment Request
When Legal Counsel issues a Payment Request, an automated email is sent to the requester.
This email is also logged in the Audit Log (visible to IT Administrators).
After receiving the payment request:
- The requester may coordinate payment with the PRC or send a check.
- Once payment is received, Legal Counsel records it in the system.

13. Close Request
Once the IPRA Legal Counsel completes processing, the request status is updated to Closed.
The requester can view this in their dashboard and retain the record for reference.
